According to reports on BBC Football, Chelsea striker Diego Costa said after Spain’s 2-2 friendly draw against Colombia on Wednesday night that he isn’t part of manager Antonio Conte’s future plans.
The Blues star has been a controversial figure at times and he missed a clash against Leicester City in January following a dispute with a fitness coach while he was heavily linked with a move to the Chinese Super League during the same month.
Even though he ended the campaign with 20 Premier League goals to help the team win the title, it appears as though the Italian boss has had enough of the 28-year-old and is instead keen to bring in new blood this summer.
Costa said: “I’m a Chelsea player, but they do not want me there.
“Antonio Conte has told me by message that I do not follow at Chelsea and that’s it. Conte said he did not count on me for next season.”
Chelsea supporters were quick to have their say on the quotes via social media, with many backing Conte on his decision as they believe that Costa has become a bad influence on the team.
