Ex-Sunderland goalkeeper Craig Gordon is focusing on his fitness in an attempt to find himself a new football club.
The Scotland international is sidelined with a knee injury and without a Premier League club, despite still being the most expensive British goalkeeper of all-time.
He told the BBC: “I’m just trying to get back fully fit with that before I start looking for a club.
“I’ve still had a few niggling problems with my knee injury, which I’ve had on and off for quite some time now.”
Numerous factors meant Gordon never lived up to his £9 million price tag on Wearside, with injuries throughout his stay playing an integral part.
During his second season with the Black Cats a knee injury saw him miss large parts of the campaign, while a broken arm affected his role the following year.
Knee surgery saw sidelined for a further 8 months during his stay, with Sunderland choosing to release the stopper this summer, leaving Kieren Westwood and Simon Mignolet to fight it out for the number one jersey.
